Sedao SWEP (Software) FAQ's

Software – SWEP

What is the default User name and password for SWEP?

The default user name for the SWEP interface is ‘admin’ and the default password is also ‘admin’. These details can be changed once logged into the SWEP interface. It is strongly recommended that you do change these details.  If you should forget the administrative username and password, the only option will be to reset the SWEP interface to factory settings.  This is a 30 minute process which Sedao reserve the right to charge for.  The signage will be unavailable while the work is carried out.

How do I access the SWEP Interface?

The SWEP interface can be accessed via a web browser from any computer (PC or Mac) on the same local network. Open Internet Explorer or equivalent and enter the SWEP computer name into the address bar. The default SWEP computer name is ‘SWEP1’. When the SWEP computer is added to a domain, it is sometimes necessary to enter the full computer name that includes the domain name. In very rare circumstances it is necessary to enter the IP address of the player in lieu of the computer name.  Contact your network administrator or Sedao Support representative for advice.

How can I find my presentations in SWEP?

Within the ‘Configure this Server’ menu, ensure the ‘Site Root’ is pointing to the folder location of your media and presentation ‘.sif’ files. In the ‘Manage Presentations’ menu, click ‘Rescan Presentations’. For further information please consult the SWEP user manual.

How do I change the schedule using SWEP?

Within the ‘Configure this Server’ menu, ensure the schedule location is set to the correct file path of the schedule that is being used by ImageFlyer. For further information please consult the ImageFlyer and SWEP user manuals.

I want to add a new presentation, can this be done using SWEP?

Not entirely: SWEP Client software is designed primarily to update existing screen layouts. It is recommended that new presentations are copied from your design PC to your SWEP computer(s) using shared folders within Windows® Explorer. If your license permits, you may also use Sedao Content Manager to update presentations.  Please consult the SWEP Manual for further information.

Why do I get a Sedao logo instead of a thumbnail in SWEP?

Thumbnails are created when a screen layout plays through ImageFlyer. If there is No thumbnail, either the screen layout has not yet been played on the SWEP computer, or the status monitor settings are incorrect in ImageFlyer. This can be caused by creating or modifying user accounts in Windows®. Further information on these settings can be found in the ImageFlyer manual.

How do I get my Status Monitor to work in SWEP?

The Status monitor uses presentation thumbnails as described above. Check the ImageFlyer Grab Screen and Status settings are correct.

Why can't I view all the components of my screen layout through SWEP?

This is normally caused by storing media elements in different locations, outside the ‘Site Root Folder’ configured in SWEP. If the media has been added recently, use the ‘Rescan Presentations’ function to refresh the media list. This may also be caused when trying to view media that is not currently supported by SWEP.
